A designer by trade, and advertiser by default, David Weinstock has traveled a somewhat circuitous route to the director's chair. A true creative hybrid, he takes a unique and brand-centric approach to all projects. As a director, he searches for a strong narrative thread combined with clever, bold imagery. While a student at New York's prestigious Pratt Institute, David received an internship at M&Co, alongside design legend Tibor Kalman. There, history was made with album covers and videos for the Talking Heads and award-winning house-label watches. After his high profile internship landed David at a division of Chiat-Day, advertising seemed like a natural progression. Since then David has held executive creative posts at McCann-Erickson, Crossroads Television, Campbell Mithun, Wells BDDP and Margeotes, Fertitta & Partners. He has consulted for agencies such as Y&R, Grey, Merkely & Partners and DDB. He has received recognition from the American Institute Of Graphic Arts, Graphic Design USA, Print Magazine, Adweek and the Broadcast Designers Association. Before turning his focus to directing, he designed everything from corporate identities to skateboards, created on-air graphics and websites, and wrote ads and TV shows. Through it all, David has developed a seamless strategic and visual approach across virtually all media. And, in the process, brought brands to life. David lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife and baby daughter.
